Lee Castro
MS, APRN, AGACNP-BC

Board Certified Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner

Spanning the last decade, Lee has spent  his career caring for patients when they have been at their most vulnerable.  He started as a nurse in the Medical ICU at North Shore University Hospital.  He went on to take part of a newly formed rapid response team at Long Island Jewish Medical Center and then as an international fixed-wing flight nurse with a focus on repatriating critically-ill patients from abroad.

He sought to further his education and graduated at the top of his inaugural class at Hofstra University as an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner.  From there, Lee joined the Acute Lung Injury Center at LIJMC where he was part of an interdisciplinary team taking care of patients on ECMO.

Having experienced the COVID-19 pandemic as a critical care provider, he has seen the need for patient advocacy across the healthcare continuum. He is passionate about the physical, mental and emotional aspects of patients and their families, especially in the pre-hospital and post-critical care setting.
